Initially designed for the building refurbishment market, Mass 50 is now established as a market-leading product with a multitude of uses throughout the building and civil engineering industries. In common with all Mabey Hire Services' products, the Mass 50 System has been developed by our in-house engineering team to give maximum flexibility from a set of off-the-shelf components.

The Mass 50 prop unit has a 250mm square cross-section and is capable of supporting loads of up to 500kN on a single leg. The units have been designed to provide the high load capacities and low frame deflections demanded by today's construction industry. Bracing and accessories are easily bolted to the webs and/or flanges of the Prop units. Fully drilled, web-stiffened grillage beam assemblies are provided to spread higher loads into supports.

Mass 50 can be built into trusses and towers from standard parts, a range of truss and frame braces are available as part of the system to form stiff trusses and towers from standard off-the-shelf components.

Adjustable end units are available for fine adjustment of both raking and vertical props. Mass 50 can be used in conjunction with the Hymat Hydraulic Jack to facilitate pre-loading and jacking applications.

End and side connections are compatible with System 160 components.
